Features of the nose job in Thailand

Thailand is considered a top destination for plastic surgery among medical tourists. Local plastic surgeons have a vast experience in performing rhinoplasty.

The nose job in Thailand captures 3 staps: preoperative preparation, operation process, postoperative rehabilitation.

Preparation for the nose job

Preoperative preparation for rhinoplasty in Bangkok, Thailand takes 1 day. It includes such procedures:

  • consultation with a plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist;
  • blood tests;
  • MRI and X-ray of the nose;
  • 3D-modeling of the future result.

How is rhinoplasty performed?

The rhinoplasty process in Thailand consists of:

  • Anesthesia. Specialists perform the nose job in Thailand under local sedation or general anesthesia (for complex intervention).
  • Rhinoplasty process. Incisions are made inside and outside the nose. Then a plastic surgeon changes the nose shape and structure. The rhinoplasty surgery in Thailand takes 1-2 hours. Its duration varies depending on the intervention complexity.
  • Casting and stitching. When plastic surgery is over, a specialist closes the incision and fixes the nose using silicone sheeting and cotton ballet.

Recovery period after the rhinoplasty in Thailand

The extended admission is not required after rhinoplasty. A patient needs to stay in a hospital for 1-2 days, then (s)he is dismissed. In 5 days after rhinoplasty, a patient comes for a consultation to remove stitches and estimate the result.

Swelling and bruises disappear in 10-14 days after surgery.

The nose takes the final shape after 6 months.

Nose job options in Thailand

Plastic surgeons in Thailand take even complicated cases. For defects correction they apply 2 rhinoplasty merhods:

  • closed rhinoplasty
  • open rhinoplasty.

Closed nose job technique

A plastic surgeon uses endonasal access during the operation. All the manipulations are carried out through the incision made inside the nose. After this rhinoplasty type, no traces and scars remain, but closed rhinoplasty technique does not allow correcting the serious curvatures.

Open nose job technique

Access to the bone and cartilage is made via the incision outside the nose. This method provides a doctor with good visibility during the surgery process allowing correct even serious deformities. After open nose job technique, a small scar can remain.

How to choose the best rhinoplasty clinic in Thailand?

If a patient wants to undergo the best rhinoplasty in Thailand and be satisfied with the result, take into account such factors:

  • Plastic surgeon’s qualification

The success of the result depends on qualification of a doctor performing. Learn about his/her accreditation, certifications. Ask about ‘before-after’ portfolio with rhinoplasty works.

  • Specialization of a clinic

Better to choose clinics which are specialized exceptionally in plastic surgery. Doctors working there have wider experience than those who practice in the multidisciplinary centers.

  • Location of clinics

Choose clinics for rhinoplasty in Bangkok, Thailand. As a rule, clinics located in the capital are equipped with more innovative technologies and conduct operations at the highest level.

  • Patients reviews about rhinoplasty in Thailand.

Real patients’ experience will help to choose the right clinic and avoid possible difficulties during the medical trip to Thailand.

The level of the clinic is high, qualified doctors. Of the minuses, this is a transfer: 1. Drivers do not speak English, cars are dirty, there is no child car seat. 2. When driving from the clinic to the hotel, the driver watched a movie on the phone, a phone in his hand, looked at the road, there was no traffic jam, made a remark, the driver began to watch a little less often. 3. The car does not arrive at the agreed time, 2 cases: - from the clinic to the hotel: asked to wait from 14:10 to 14:30, we agreed, as a result every 10 minutes we were told the car would be in 5 minutes, waited until 15:10 ... such a service with a child is very inconvenient, if they were oriented correctly in time, they would take a taxi right away - from the hotel to the airport: the car was 45 minutes late! Every 5 minutes we were told a car would be here. We called a taxi, but the car arrived. Due to the fact that we did not have to check in our luggage, we managed to get on a plane.

The level of the clinic is high, qualified doctors. For the second time they were vaccinated both for themselves and the child. Cons: - the indicated coordinator in Istanbul did not answer calls on the day of arrival, nor when we arrived at the clinic, did not call back, I had to explain at the reception (they speak English very weakly at the reception), - the transfer service from the clinic is not very comfortable , the drivers do not speak English, there is no child car seat, the cars are dirty, you have to wait a long time.
